Damaged Gutters in Kota Tua Area Being Repaired

Around seven personnel from Taman Sari Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit, West Jakarta began to repair damaged gutters in Kota Tua area.

Taman Sari Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit Head, Shely Sapta Budyana said, in overall, the Kota tua had around 150 gutters. 12 out of them were under repair due to clogging of mud and garbage.

"We clean up mud and garbage first and will be continued with repair," he expressed, Wednesday (3/3).

Dirty Channels and Gutters along Jalan DI Panjaitan Being Cleaned

According to him, those gutters had an important role in overcoming flooding, especially during heavy rain as a way for water to enter the drainage.

"We have a work program that is monitoring, as well as improving gutters and making big gutters when needed," he said.

By doing so, it would smoothen the flow of water and be able to minimize flooding.
